A cryptic post hints at a bloody new chapter.

Following the shifting fate of classic horror IPs is something I do with cautious interest. Now, when reboots seem to arrive as often as full moons, especially. But when a name like A24 enters the picture, even the most tired franchise suddenly gets a flicker of intrigue.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre — yes, that one — is back in the spotlight. The gritty 1974 classic from Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel has long been a high bar in horror. Now, word is the rights are up for grabs, and a handful of big names have been pitching for a reboot.

The list includes Taylor Sheridan, Jordan Peele, Oz Perkins — and JT Mollner, best known for his sleek indie Strange Darling. Sources say he pitched his vision with A24 onboard, and Glen Powell is apparently involved creatively. That already sounds like something different, doesn’t it?

Then came the tease: Mollner quietly posted a photo of Leatherface, chainsaw raised, no caption. No explanation either. Just enough to set horror Twitter on fire. Fans are reading it as a sign — maybe he and A24 already have the rights locked down.

Now, we all know the 1974 original is lightning in a bottle — lo-fi, unpolished, and still unnerving. But if anyone could revive that energy without turning it glossy, A24 feels like a good bet.

So, nothing solid yet — but signs point to something brewing. And while we’re all a bit tired of endless reboots, this combo? It actually sounds promising.
