Lil Wayne landed in Fortnite — and one of his two skins can be unlocked without spending a V-Buck

What's actually in the drop

Two outfits hit the Item Shop as part of Chapter 7 Season 4's gaming-themed lineup: a suited-up Lil Wayne with gold graffiti that glows and pulses to the beat, and Weezy, his signature tank-top-and-shades look with an ember-reactive style. The single outfit runs 1,500 V-Bucks, the full bundle 3,600, and the accessories are unhinged in the best way:

• Milli Bricks back bling — a stack of gold bricks shaped like the Young Money logo, because subtlety is for people with fewer Grammys
• Weezy Board — a flaming skateboard strapped to your back
• Young Money Stage glider — pyrotechnics fire when you deploy it, stage lights follow you down
• three Jam Tracks from the catalog for Fortnite Festival.

Here's the part your V-Bucks balance will appreciate. Epic ran the Weezy Icon Cup alongside the launch — solo Battle Royale or Zero Build — and top regional finishers walked away with the Weezy outfit and the flaming skateboard before either hit the shop, price tag: zero. Anyone who scraped together eight points got a YM emoticon as a participation trophy, which in Fortnite economics is still better than most participation trophies.

And Wayne, a certified years-long player of this game, is being weirdly sincere about the whole thing. He told NME he wants fans to see him in there as one of them:

"I want to inspire [someone to become] the next Lil Tecca."
