The most Washington-looking building in NBC's Line of Fire has a white dome, a rotunda, and a Long Island zip code.

Line of Fire premiered September 21, 2026, on NBC, Mondays at 10/9c, streaming the next day on Peacock. Created by Joshua Safran, it follows the Hollingsworths, a Washington, D.C., family who all work for the federal government and all hide something. Peter Krause plays Mike, a Secret Service agent. Hope Davis plays Jane, his separated wife and a U.S. marshal. Their kids are Clare (Kat Cunning), an FBI agent; Micah (Tommy O'Brien), also Secret Service; and Russ (Taylor Bloom), at the Department of Justice. The premiere drew over 14 million cross-platform viewers, and on October 22, NBC extended the first season to 18 episodes.

Where Line of Fire is filmed

The production filmed in and around New York from May to September 2026, under the working title Protection.

The government building on Long Island

The federal building in Line of Fire is the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building, at 1550 Franklin Avenue in Mineola, home of Nassau County's government.

It started out as the Nassau County Courthouse. Theodore Roosevelt laid the cornerstone in 1900, when he was governor of New York. The building was finished in 1901, the year William McKinley was assassinated and Roosevelt became president.

So the building playing federal Washington was started by a future president.

Architect William B. Tubby designed it in the Classical Revival style, with a grand rotunda under a white dome, which is exactly what TV Washington needs. It didn't always look the part. When it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, it was falling apart. The dome was restored in 2002, the renovations ran until 2008, and that year it was renamed for Roosevelt.

The rest of the map

The rest of Line of Fire's Washington is spread across New York State:

  • Manhattan — Columbus Circle, Chelsea, and the Financial District, including Wall Street, Exchange Place, and Pearl, Beaver and Hanover Streets.
  • Queens — Whitestone, near 14th Avenue and 150th Street, filmed September 8, 2026.
  • Brooklyn — Greenpoint.
  • Yonkers — Lockwood Avenue and Agar Street.
  • Rockland County — Pearl River and New City, filmed in July 2026.

Why the D.C. details still land

The insider knowledge comes from an executive producer who lived it. Jenna Bush Hager spent her father's two terms as a first daughter, protected by the agency Mike Hollingsworth works for.

"She was there for eight years, so she saw many, many things," Krause said.

He was allowed to share exactly one of them.

"The one detail I can share with you is that the Secret Service code name for her was Twinkle," Krause said.

According to Krause, it's because she has "a little twinkle in her eye."
