In Midnight in Paris, released in 2011, we see Owen Wilson as the nostalgic writer Gil, roaming around the streets of Paris and magically traveling back to the 1920s every night.

It's a dreamy, time-travel adventure, and none other than Tom Hiddleston pops up in this blast from the past, but not as the mischievous Loki we all adore. Instead, he's portraying the dashing and legendary F. Scott Fitzgerald, with all the charm and charisma of the famous author.

Owen Wilson's Gil is a wide-eyed writer, totally enamored with the past. He's funny, a bit clumsy, and completely lovable. Wilson brings his signature laid-back, easy-going vibe to the character, making us all wish we could stroll through Paris with him.

Tom Hiddleston as F. Scott Fitzgerald is a scene-stealer. He's suave, sophisticated, and totally embodies the spirit of the Jazz Age. Watching him, you'd think he stepped right out of the pages of a 1920s novel.

Hiddleston nails the role, showing off his range way before he became such a powerhouse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. By the way, Hiddleston debuted as Loki in the same year, in the 2011 Thor.

Midnight in Paris and Loki Actually Share Some Similarities

In Midnight in Paris, Hiddleston and Wilson don't really get into any Loki-style shenanigans, but these two gems share something in common. The most apparent similarity is the element of time travel. Both narratives use time travel as a vehicle for exploring history and nostalgia.

And of course, the vibe between Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson is noteworthy in both projects.
