Looks Like Tom Holland Should Follow Daniel Radcliffe's Lead to Save His Career
The actor decided to take a break from his career due to complications with his latest project.
Having started his career just over a decade ago, Tom Holland has risen to global fame in record time thanks to his portrayal of Spider-Man in the MCU.
Since his debut in Captain America: Civil War ( 2016), the actor has appeared in two more crossovers and three solo films, only solidifying his success.
However, his appearances outside of the MCU have not been as great, with many of them ending in total flops, which has only gotten worse in recent years as Tom seems to be on a losing streak.
Cherry (2021), Chaos Walking (2021), Uncharted (2022) and now The Crowded Room TV series have all been underwhelming or even outright disasters, with the latter scoring only 8% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In a recent interview with Extra, Holland revealed that he will be taking a break from acting for the next year, which is "a result of how difficult this show was," as the production of the series proved to be extremely challenging for the actor and producer.
However, he is looking forward to seeing the results of his hard work.
As already mentioned, despite Tom's best efforts, the series seems to be extremely underwhelming, judging by the early critical reviews.
Fans believe that this situation, along with his other recent failures, may have influenced Holland's decision to retire from acting for a while.
They say that while Tom is a decent actor, he seems to be extremely unlucky in choosing the projects he wants to star in, which could be due to poor work by his agent or manager.
Fans believe that considering the fact that Tom is basically set for life by his MCU appearances, perhaps he should take notes from another actor who had previously ended up in a somewhat similar situation.
Daniel Radcliffe also struggled after his appearances in the Harry Potter movies and eventually settled for interesting and strange roles that he enjoyed playing because he could afford it with the considerable amount of money he earned in his early years.
Perhaps they are right, and Tom should change his approach to acting, choose what he enjoys doing, and appear as Spider-Man from time to time.
The next MCU film about the hero is in development, although negotiations have been on hold for some time.
The Crowded Room will be released on June 9, 2023.
