With 15 seasons worth of great stories, heroes, and villains, we can't help but think about how wonderful it would have been to see them all (or some of them) again.

The pilot episode of The Winchesters treated us with the return of our beloved Dean Winchester. Although he is not a part of the plotline but a narrator, it's still amazing to have one of the heroes back. But what about the bad guys? Supernatural sure did know a way to make a villain temptingly appealing. According to the latest news, we might be given the pleasure after all.

In a recent interview with Looper, everybody's favorite witch Ruth Connell teased that she is eager to play Rowena once again. The actress also admitted that she has already pitched the idea to the two most important decision-makers: "I have pitched it flat out to Jensen [Ackles] in the green room and Danneel [Ackles] over a drink."

This and Robbie Thompson's hint that we might see some more familiar faces in The Winchesters might mean that we will see the spicy redhead once again, and who knows what she could have up her sleeve against Mary and John.

A List of Everything That's Wrong With The Winchesters So Far

Since there are a lot of controversial topics that surround the prequel's inconsistency with the main storyline of Supernatural, a return of even such an iconic character raises the question: "how will it fit the canon and why would Rowena be involved?"

Foreseeing the rise of such a concern, Connell adds, "There's no reason why not. She would've been alive; she just maybe would've wiped their memories afterward so they couldn't remember it for future generations."

Knowing the cunning and elegant nature of Rowena, she might have even failed to mention that she had prior interaction with Winchesters' parents. After all, she lived a long life and did a lot of questionable things that are not worth mentioning, especially when we know how much she bonded with the brothers, given she's a villain (for the most part). Perhaps, her presence in the show will be the missing puzzle piece to figuring out how do we get from the prequel to the canon.

For the many SPN fans, such a return, no matter the circumstances, would be a great gift and pleasing fan service. For now, we are left to guess whether or not Rowena will come back and what would that return be like.
