Maniac Again, But Not Alone: The First Episodes of 'Dexter' 3 Are More Surprising Than the Finale of the Previous Part
The controversial favorite of millions returns to New York, but the number of killers increases.
Dexter Morgan, having survived a gunshot to the heart, fell into a coma, went through rehabilitation and again found himself in the center of the plot. In the new season of Dexter: Resurrection, he returns to his usual way of life. True, now he is not alone.

The series immediately gets rid of the logic of the ending of the last part, as if telling the viewer: forget what happened. Harrison shot his father to break out of the circle of violence? It does not matter anymore.
Father and son are both alive, both in New York and both are potential serial killers. The appearance of Angel Batista (David Zayas), who officially admits that Dexter is no longer obliged to hide, only emphasizes: the rules in this game no longer work.
The first three episodes are full of absurdity, but also recognizable charm. Instead of reflections — black humor, instead of logic - daring nostalgia.
Musical fromTalking Heads and Nick Cave, new victims, old tricks. And also — a hint at a secret society of maniacs, which may include characters played by Peter Dinklage and Neil Patrick Harris.
The vibe of the first seasons and complete madness
The creators decided not to delve into psychology, but to go the way of comic book grotesqueness. Everything is reminiscent of the early seasons, but adjusted for time: less morality, more madness.
Now Dexter is more of a clever troll than a gloomy forensic expert. He teaches Harrison how to get rid of evidence, punishes bad guys and is almost not tormented by remorse.
Judging by the first episodes, the series does not strive for the final point. Rather, for the pleasure of the process. And if everything does not slide into outright farce, then this could be the most cheerful season of the franchise in the last 10 years.
