Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio Are Teaming Up For Another Big Movie

The film is already the 4th in the line of the cinematic duo’s upcoming projects.
Having starred in Martin Scorsese ’s hit movies like Gangs of New York, The Aviator, Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street Street and Killers of the Flower Moon, Leonardo DiCaprio has been regarded as one of the director’s favorites alongside Robert De Niro.
The actor continued collaborating with Scorsese in recent years while being on board for three more movies set to be released sometime in the future, and one more exciting project has just been added to Scorsese-DiCaprio’s to-do list.
The future film will be based on an acclaimed novel and has already been confirmed to premiere on Apple TV+.
Martin Scorsese Will Adapt Home With Leonardo DiCaprio As the Lead
After several months of rumours and speculation, it seems like the director indeed has another movie to helm in the upcoming years, with it being an adaptation of Marilynne Robinson’s acclaimed novel of the same name.
As Publisher Weekly reported, Scorsese is “attached to write, direct, and produce, alongside filmmaker Todd Field” who, in his turn, “a multi–Academy Award nominee, is slated to produce alongside Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions, DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions, and LBI Entertainment, the firm run by Scorsese and DiCaprio’s talent manager, Rick Yorn”.
The details are under wraps so far, and there’s no saying whether Scorsese has plans for adapting more novels from Robinson’s Gilead book series which, apart from Home, comprises 3 more stories.
The upcoming film will likely become one of a few projects that won’t feature Scorsese’s epic 3-hour and big-budget scope, instead turning to a more thorough character study.
“The Reverend Boughton’s hell-raising son, Jack, has come home after twenty years away. Artful and devious in his youth, now an alcoholic carrying two decades worth of secrets, he is perpetually at odds with his traditionalist father, though he remains his most beloved child. As Jack tries to make peace with his father, he begins to forge an intense bond with his sister Glory, herself returning home with a broken heart and turbulent past”, the official synopsis reads.
Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio Have 3 More Movies to Film Together in the Future
The news about the duo’s new collaboration comes roughly several weeks after Scorsese and DiCaprio were confirmed to work together once again for another long-overdue adaptation Devil in the White City, which has remained in the production hell for the last couple of decades.
Additionally, the actor and the director also have an untitled Hawaiian crime boss movie in their plans where they will be joined by Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, and a biopic about Frank Sinatra which so far has been penned by the singer’s family.
It remains unclear which one of those is Scorsese’s top priority right now, but the director’s next film will definitely bring DiCaprio back to big screens, which is good news for the duo’s fans anyway.
