‘Justice on Trial’ — July 21

What It’s About: Amazon Prime’s new original series, Justice on Trial is a fascinating new arrival for both fans of legal dramas and true crime documentaries.

The show will star real-life Judge Judy Sheindlin as she and her team will revisit some of the most notorious cases that shook American society in the past.

Justice on Trial’s season 1 will consist of eight episodes, with each of them focusing on a specific case that caused heated discussions back in the day.

‘The Hunting Wives’ — July 21

What It’s About: Based on May Cobb’s best selling novel, the series follows Sophie as she and her family decide to move from the East Coast to deep East Texas — there she meets Margo Bank whose influence will change Sophie’s life, and probably not for the best.

Starring Malin Åkerman and Brittany Snow, The Hunting Wives was initially set to be released on Starz, but then was moved to Netflix just several weeks prior to the premiere.

What It’s About: Celine Song’s next feature movie after Past Lives, Materialists stars Dakota Johnson as Lucy, a New York City matchmaker who hasn’t yet found a perfect match for herself until she runs into Pedro Pascal’s charming businessman Harry at her client’s wedding.

However, Lucy’s luckless and pretty imperfect ex John somehow makes his way back to her life, forcing Lucy to make the most important decision she’s never been ready for.

Inspired by the Salma Hayek-led Mexican comedy How to Be a Latin Lover, Acapulco is set in 1984 at Acapulco's hottest resort, Las Colinas, where Maximo Gallardo arrives fully convinced that his new job is everything he has ever wanted in life.

However, as time passes by, he realises that spending all his time at the luxurious resort might be more complicated than he imagined.

What It’s About: Netflix’s fantasy drama hit based on Neil Gaiman’s comic book series of the same name, The Sandman follows the eponymous character aka Dream aka Morpheus who is liberated after being held prisoner for more than a century.

The master of his own realm, Dream has to travel across different worlds and dimensions to make things right after his absence caused some chaos.

The second part of the show’s season 2 will also become The Sandman’s finale.

‘Happy Gilmore 2’ — July 25

What It’s About: Coming to the screens almost 30 years after the original movie, Happy Gilmore 2 will see Adam Sandler reprising his role as the character of the same name who is now a retired golfer.

However, getting his grandmother’s house back in the first movie wasn’t the only big trouble Happy has faced, as he’s now set to return to the world of sports to pay for his daughter Vienna’s ballet school.

What It’s About: Starring Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd, the horror comedy follows Ridley and her father Elliot as they travel to the latter’s boss’ luxurious estate to spend a weekend when they accidentally kill a unicorn.

With Elliot’s boss suggesting they hide the creature’s body to later use it for all kinds of experiments due to the unicorn’s healing abilities, the whole group is yet to meet the dead animal’s enraged parents who seek vengeance for their child’s brutal murder.
