Mikey Madison Is Going Back to Her Roots With a New Exciting Role

The actress might have just sealed a horrifyingly good deal after starring in Sean Baker’s Oscar-winning drama Anora.
It didn’t take much time for modern filmmakers to consider a new Hollywood big star for their upcoming movies, and one of those might be soon teaming up with recent Oscar winner Mikey Madison.
The latter’s acting career skyrocketed thanks to Sean Baker’s Anora and is now set to reach new heights after the actress took home the Oscar for Best Actress, becoming one of the youngest contenders to receive the prestigious award.
Roughly several weeks after the Oscars ceremony, there’s another big role that might be next for Madison after the major breakthrough; this time, however, nothing romantic is involved.
Mikey Madison Is Rumoured to Have Been Cast as a Lead in Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil
The Oscar-winning actress might already be up to a completely different role soon after her triumph at the latest awards season as, according to World of Reel’s insider Jordan Ruimy, Madison has been offered one of the leading roles in Zach Cregger’s upcoming reboot of an iconic horror movie Resident Evil.
There’s no saying whether the actress accepted the offer or is leaving things pending, but this would definitely become her next major step after Anora’s success, especially since a big role in Cregger’s future film will likely be accompanied by a solid paycheck of several million dollars.
Prior to being rumored to star Mikey Madison as well, new Resident Evil received another significant update just several days ago, announcing Euphoria ’s star Austin Abrams as its definite lead.
The plot details of the upcoming movie are under wraps, though it’s believed to become yet another mix of horror, sci-fi and action genres, following a courrier whose delivery of a package to a remote hospital turns into a total nightmare as he has to fight zombies to survive.
Before Starring in Anora, Mikey Madison Was Good in Horror-ish Roles Too
Despite previously being known for her part in Pamela Adlon’s comedy drama show Better Things, Madison was a force of nature in Matt Bettinelli-Olpin’s 2022 slasher Scream and Quentin Tarantino ’s 2019 comedy drama Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
While the former would obviously offer her some horror-ish experience, Tarantino’s hit movie kept things quiet about Madison’s character and her truly gruesome end in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s final moments, bringing the most of the actress’ talent to the screen even with a minor supporting role.
If the stars align for Madison’s part in Resident Evil’s reboot too, it’s safe to say she won’t be a disappointment.
