Over the course of the existing 4 seasons of Stranger Things, many new characters have been introduced to the series, and many other characters were killed off.

Season 4, which the Duffer Brothers refer to as their "Game of Thrones season" saw one of the highest death tolls in the series thus far. Much to the dismay of fans, one of the character casualties in this season was Eddie Munson.

Eddie Munson, the rebellious, metal-loving leader of the Hellfire Club was introduced to fans in the 4th season and quickly became a fan favorite. Even though he was older and a social outcast, Eddie had a kind heart and was a friend and role model to the Hawkins Gang, who came to his rescue when he was accused of murders committed by Vecna.

The Biggest Reason Behind Billy Still Being One of Stranger Things' Most Popular

Eddie spent most of the 4th season in hiding, fearing for his life as he was being hunted by fellow students and members of the community. In the end, Eddie decides he is tired of being afraid and enters the Upside Down to help the Hawkins Gang fight against Vecna. Tragically he ends up dying to save his friends, and his final moments in the Upside Down are truly heartbreaking as he dies in a tearful Dustin's arms.

The death of Eddie Munson absolutely rocked the Stranger Things community, with distraught fans taking to the internet to discuss every possible scenario that would see the possibility of Eddie making a return in season 5.

These theories involve him appearing in flashbacks, him becoming some kind of ghost, him actually surviving the attack because time works differently in the Upside Down, and the most popular one of all: Eddie coming back as Vecna's right-hand man.

The idea of Eddie coming back as Kas the Bloody Handed was presented to Millie Bobby Brown in a recent interview. Millie, who plays one of the main characters Eleven in the series, has been very wary of giving away spoilers.

She kept tight-lipped during the interview but did go on to say that she thought fans had come up with a really good theory.

On a personal note, Millie revealed that it was difficult saying goodbye to characters that the Duffer Brothers had killed off, and she was hoping for certain ones to make a return in season 5. However, no matter how hard interviewers may push, the young actress assures them that even if she wanted to tell them what was to come in season 5, she genuinely doesn't know much.

If there was a chance of Eddie Munson returning in season 5, it seems only the Duffer Brothers truly know. Millie is kept in the dark as much as her fellow cast mates are, to ensure no spoilers are leaked. Season 5 will surely be full of surprises, and fans can only wait eagerly to see what the next installment holds.
