Some of us have grown up watching The Office – although it is quite different from Never Have I Ever or Sex Education which is more suitable for teens.

Actually, Mindy Kaling who famously played Kelly Kapoor in the NBC series about the dumbest and cringiest boss ever says she will not let her children watch the show.

Why? Because The Office has grown to become totally inappropriate.

"That show is so inappropriate now. The writers who I'm still in touch with now, we always talk about how so much of that show we probably couldn't make now. Tastes have changed and, honestly, what offends people has changed so much now," she has said, adding that she believes this is why the series is so popular now. "People feel like there's something kind of fearless about it or taboo that it talks about on the show."

When Kaling, who was also a writer on the series team, was asked if her children would ever be allowed to watch the show the actress said "I think maybe never."

But what do other The Office stars think of the series which made them so famous?

Steve Carell who portrayed the iconic stupid head of the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company once admitted to not being fond of re-watching the shows he starred in. Carell said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that he doesn't watch any of his own TV shows or movies.

"Sometimes the cast [of The Office] would get together, and we'd watch it together, and that was really fun, but no, I tend not to do that..," said the Michael Scott actor who departed the show right near the end of Season 7.

Previously, he also shared an intimate thought about the series saying that if The Office "is what we're all remembered for, which will probably be the case, what a great thing to be remembered for." He once said he doubted the series would work today because "the climate's different."

Unlike Kaling, her co-star John Krasinski 's (Jim Halpert) two daughters have recently started watching the series and the actor is fine with that. Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he said he showed them The Office's pilot episode. While his eldest daughter was angry when Michael Scott fired Pam (Jim's love interest on the show) and started talking to him over the TV screen, the younger daughter simply said "'You look very different. That's not you. The guy looks a lot like you though'."

The show can certainly be treated as questionable especially by the modern-day standards. And as Mindy Kaling has pointed out, "most of the characters on that show probably would be canceled."

Redditors have discussed at length which episode of the famed series would hardly be aired today too. And while a fair share of them agree that there are dozens of episodes which would hardly make it on air, some argue that all the "bad" jokes are usually pointing at Michael Scott's ignorance and stupidity, which are never endorsed by anybody.
