Mission Impossible 8 May Repeat Dead Reckoning’s Worst Mistake

Tom Cruise's insane motorcycle jump stunt was spoiled in the Dead Reckoning trailer. The upcoming Final Reckoning movie also reveals one of the big stunts in the trailer, but that's not even the biggest mistake annoying fans. This time, it's the marketing.
Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning had its world premiere in Tokyo on May 5th, but it still has a Cannes screening and a US theatrical release ahead of it. And while fans are excited about the upcoming finale of the Mission Impossible saga, there are some complaints that are hard to ignore.
Tom Cruise famously does his own stunts for all the Mission: Impossible movies, and The Final Reckoning is no exception. In fact, the trailer (as well as other marketing materials) has already given us a sneak peek at one of the wildest stunts in the film, where Cruise clings to his life on a biplane as it spins through the air.
What Exactly Is Wrong With The Final Reckoning Marketing, According to Fans?
Many fans can't help but remember the time when the trailer for Dead Reckoning pretty much ruined the movie experience for many viewers by spoiling the mind-blowing motorcycle jump in the trailer.
“Seeing so much about the stunt in Part 1 got me to the point where in the movie, instead of wondering what was going to happen, I was thinking by “oh, this will be where the motorcycle jump happens,” Redditor DanookOfTheNorth said.
The Final Reckoning doesn't exactly repeat this particular mistake (or does it?), but earlier Tom Cruise said that filming the biplane scene made him pass out. It's possible that the biplane stunt is not "the big one" for The Final Reckoning, but if it is, then Mission Impossible is not really learning from its mistakes.
Another thing that annoys fans is the involvement of social media influencers.
For example, Paramount released a video with several YouTube influencers trying to keep it together in the biplane that repeats the Tom Cruise stunt. Mind you, they were inside the plane, not outside like the actor. In the end, they all agreed that the stunt felt crazy even in the cabin, and they have no idea how Cruise does it in the real air.
On Reddit, some fans argue that the marketing strategy for The Final Reckoning isn’t perfect. According to them, the audiences for the influencers and the movie are very different.
“This choice is absolutely baffling to me. I don't think that the audience for these YouTubers/influencers are even remotely the same audience that goes to see the Mission: Impossible films. Additionally these people got the opportunity to visit the set and not only get to see some of the filming of the underwater sequence, but they also got to hear Tom Cruise drop invaluable knowledge about acting, filmmaking, & storytelling; which unfortunately given the nature of modern "influencers" probably just fell on deaf ears. Why didn't Paramount give that opportunity to people who actually deserve it and could use it like oh I don't know, actual or aspiring actors & filmmakers?” said Redditor TTM11.
When Does Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning Premiere?
