‘MobLand’ Finale Theories: Who Is Kat, Who Are the Rats & Who Will Make It Out Alive

The MobLand season one grand finale is one week away. Here are the best fan theories about Kat McAllister, the identities of all the rats, and the most important question: who will survive the bloodbath that is definitely coming?
MobLand fans can’t stop talking about episode 9, titled “Beggars Banquet”, as well as the tenth and final episode, titled “The Beast in Me” and coming on June 1. In the ninth episode, many mysteries are finally unveiled; watch out for spoilers ahead if you are yet to watch it!
We now know that Eddie is, indeed, the son of Conrad and not Kevin (and so does Eddie now); we also know that there seems to be way more rats around than we thought there were; we are hinted that Harry’s unhappy with his current employment and wants to “leave”; oh, and Maeve is outed and arrested alongside her husband. Quite an eventful episode it was, huh?
Now, fans are theorizing about what will happen in the final episode, who will survive the upcoming bloodbath, and everyone’s motives. We've collected some of the most intriguing theories.
Theory 1: Kat Wants Harry to Take Out Both Richie and Conrad
Kat McAllister, whose identity remains a mystery (all we know is that she seems to be way more powerful than anyone in this show), has made it clear that Harry owes her two favors. Redditors believe that the favors will inevitably be about dealing with the heads of both warring crime families.
“Kat’s two favors from Harry are doing both Conrad and Ritchie. Rationale: it mirrors the series opening nicely: two warring families can’t see past personal grievances to keep the business going and it’s always Harry’s job to do the “pruning.” They had a chance to put grievances aside, but ultimately will never let things go and need to be dealt with as both Kat and Harry understand,” said Redditor 4everLooking4Alice.
This would effectively address Harry’s grievances about his employment with the Harrigans. However, the question remains whether Kat’s first priority is truly addressing them or if she has her own agenda.
Theory 2: Who Is the Rat?
In episode 9, Jaime agrees to Conrad’s deal, but only with the condition of the Harrigans dealing with the rat in their camp. But who is this rat? Many fans suspect it is the family attorney O’Hara, who Harry calls and wants to meet the next day — her opinion on the fentanyl business is suspiciously similar to Archie’s, and we know what happened to him.
However, things may not be that simple.
“I think the rat is Paul. Showing him quite a bit, Conrad belittling him and looks like he's fed up. Just my 2 cents,” Redditor dozer_guy suggested.
Or maybe the rat is Jan, the wife of Harry? Was she really acting dumb as a mob fixer’s wife, or does she have her own agenda?
“I have a strange suspicion that Jan and Kat are somehow related and that’s how Harry knows her. Jan is the rat and the lawyer gets wrongly killed,” said Redditor No-Round6844.
Theory 3: Gina May Already Be Pregnant With Eddie’s Child
Gina and Eddie have been hooking up for a while, and we’re not sure their little affair will have no consequences. If Kat and Harry really are plotting to take down both crime gangs, then Gina’s pregnancy may disrupt these plans.
“I predict Gina is going to be pregnant with Eddie's child, and throw a spanner into Harry and Kat dispatching the Harrington clan. Gina begged off dinner because she wasn't feeling well, which could be due to the tongue-lashing she got from Maeve, but it could also be early weeks of pregnancy. I'm not sure how many weeks she's been with Eddie at this point,” Reddditor FlyBuy3 theorized.
Besides, it could be a decent setup for season 2.
Theory 4: Kevin, Maeve, and Richie Won’t Survive in the Finale
This is where theories become even shakier than they usually are: in a war between two mafia clans, everyone can get killed, and predictions are usually being made solely based on fans’ preferences.
However, it seems that everything is slowly pointing at how Maeve can’t escape her fate: her double game is no longer convincing or smart, and the majority of the MobLand fandom hates the character and wants her to get what she deserves.
Besides, it doesn’t look like Kevin’s story can develop in an intriguing way: if at least one of the Harrigans is killed in this war (and we’re pretty sure that’s what’s going to happen), it might be him.
Meanwhile, Richie appears to have walked into a carefully planned trap, albeit it’s unclear who exactly is the one behind the said trap. Fans believe he is highly unlikely to survive the finale.
Theory 5: Harry, Eddie and Seraphina Have to Survive the Finale
Once again: nothing is certain, and everybody can die in the upcoming episode 10. However, killing off Harry doesn’t seem good for the show’s potential season 2 renewal: Tom Hardy’s character is an absolute fan favorite, and his demise may destroy the audience’s interest in the story. That’s why we (and many fans) think he’s pretty much safe.
Eddie, on the contrary, is hated by many; but he is the future of the Harrigans, and there are many ways his character can go story-wise. Despite what we just said about Harry, many fans believe that Eddie might be the one to actually kill him.
“I just think [Harry being killed] would be the ultimate twist because Harry appears almost indestructible and a step ahead of everyone. I could see it as Eddie doing it reluctantly for Conrad as I think Conrad might throw Harry under the bus because of the Kat connection,” said Redditor No-Round6844.
Now, Seraphina? This girl has been through a lot. Many fans are in awe of how she manages to pull off another deal after nearly being cut. If anyone can make it through the MobLand finale, it's her.
