Netflix Current Biggest Hit Reaches a Huge New Milestone After Streaming Success

The drama series starring Stephen Graham is a record-breaking matter just weeks after its release.
It’s not a rare thing for modern TV shows to spark heated discussions, whether it’s about a fictional plot line or a pretty real social issue, but nothing has got close to Netflix ’s Adolescence so far.
Released roughly 3 weeks ago, the miniseries quickly gained enormous popularity, becoming one of Netflix’s most-watched original shows and probably not leaving the position anytime soon.
By exploring psychological aspects of a 13-year-old’s murder investigation, Adolescence opened to a large debate about toxic masculinity and misogyny which, sadly, remain pending problems even in the equality-driven world of these days.
However, Netflix’s hit show might still be able to make a more significant social impact after a recent update.
Adolescence Is Now Free to Watch UK Schools
Days after it reached a global popularity with tens of millions of views, the series is now going further with educational purposes as it has been officially approved by the office of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to be eventually shown in public schools across the country.
Adolescence, which story takes place in England, received a warm welcome including among the UK’s government members who recently met with the show’s creators to discuss the project’s impact and the issues it raises.
During the conversation, the country’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer revealed he had watched Adolescence at home with his teenage children and admitted “it hit home hard”.
“It’s an important initiative to encourage as many pupils as possible to watch the show. As I see from my own children, openly talking about changes in how they communicate, the content they’re seeing, and exploring the conversations they’re having with their peers is vital if we are to properly support them in navigating contemporary challenges, and deal with malign influences”, Keir added, talking about the decision to make the show a part of the modern educational system in the UK.
Adolescence Is Now in Netflix’s Top 10 Most-Watched English-Language Shows in History
Ahead of turning into a national heritage, the hit show more recently went onto another level of popularity as, according to Deadline, Adolescence is currently the 9th most-watched English-language show in Netflix’s history.
The report suggests the series followed the most promising predictions and “amassed another 30.4M views from March 24 to 30, putting it at 96.7M views since its debut”.
Having entered the top-10, Adolescence pushed Bridgerton ’s season 2 out and, additionally, moved Stranger Things ’ season 3 to the 10th position.
The show is now expected to climb higher in the ranking, surpassing The Night Agent’s season 1 and Fool Me Once, which both are now having 98M views, by the end of its fourth week in the streamer’s top.
