The trailer is out, the date is November 26, and the fandom has already connected the holiday to the show's favorite pastimes.

The season 2 trailer arrived October 20, and it confirms the scheduling punchline: The Hunting Wives returns November 26 — Thanksgiving Day itself. Netflix is placing its horniest, trashiest hit directly onto the family holiday, and the fandom on r/TheHuntingWivesTVShow received the news in the exact spirit it was sent:

"'Bless your heart, bitch.' This show is so trashy and I love every trashy minute of it."

The holiday-appropriateness question was also addressed, in the fandom's own idiom:

"Oh yeah, it is gonna be spicy 🔥🌶️. The release date on Thanksgiving is very fitting since there's gonna be a lot of 🥧 eating."

What season 2 is working with

The setup, per Netflix's synopsis: Sophie (Brittany Snow) and Margo (Malin Åkerman) start the season estranged, until old secrets and new foes force them back together, with the official tagline asking whether they're "the hunters or the hunted." Snow says the scale grows past the small town: "What happens when you're messing with a lot more power, a lot more money, and a whole lot more land?"

The cast additions lean into the camp. John Stamos joins — the first-look photos feature him in an earring — alongside Kim Matula as Nadia Kelly, with season 1 deputies Flynn and Salazar (Hunter Emery, Karen Rodriguez) promoted to series regulars.

The streamer's tell

Netflix's confidence here is documented, not implied. The streamer renewed the show for season 3 on October 7 — 50 days before season 2 airs a single episode — and showrunner Rebecca Cutter told Harper's Bazaar that season 2 marks the halfway point of a planned four-season arc.

Season 3 was ordered 50 days before season 2 premieres. Cutter's "four-season plan" now has a paper trail.

That's a remarkable trajectory for a show Starz originally ordered as a one-and-done limited series. And the Thanksgiving date is the strategy in miniature: while theaters serve families Hexed and Fockers-in-Law, Netflix is betting the post-turkey couch hours on the audience that wants the opposite of family programming. Based on the subreddit, the bet is already collected.
