Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury has become a Marvel Studios staple at this point. Samuel is one of the longest-tenured actors in the whole of MCU. But so far Nick Fury had only played supporting roles whenever he appeared. Now he is finally getting a project of his own in next year's Secret Invasion.

This is supposed to be a spy action thriller, and it has been in the works for quite some time. A number of new characters are supposed to join Jackson's Fury – and MCU at large – in it.

And one of these characters is likely going to be Mrs. Fury.

Noted insider Daniel Richtman revealed information about a newcomer who could be making an appearance in Secret Invasion. In a post on his Patreon, Richtman remarked on a mysterious character being played by actress Charlayne Woodard. He revealed that Woodard would in fact be taking on the role of Agent Priscilla Fury (aka Nick Fury's spouse).

So far the only hint that Priscilla Fury even existed in MCU was Nick mentioning his wife in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Back then Steve even responded with "I didn't know you were married," but most people assumed that Nick was lying to cover up the real conversation between him and Steve, because again, neither Priscilla nor any other mention of her ever appeared on the screen before.

The problem is, fans of Marvel Comics will probably be puzzled at this point. In the comics, Fury has never taken a wife. Sure, the character has romantic affiliations here and there, but has never officially married.

This Priscilla Fury seems to be a wholly original character for the series, a new creation made for the MCU with no history on the comic page. And while yes, the MCU by this point has its own fanbase, very much independent from the comics, so far Marvel Studios have been extremely reluctant to add characters of its own invention, with no established comic book prototypes.

So far, interestingly enough, the MCU fans remain pretty indifferent to the addition, neither praising, nor condemning it – a rare reasonable reaction on the Internet!

For now, everyone are waiting to see how good Charlayne Woodard's performance will be and what sort of dynamic the Fury spouses will have, being a married couple who both specialize in the art of espionage.

In fact, quite a few fans are already guessing that this dynamic will be "Nick Fury and a shapeshifting Skrull agent."
