You’ll likely start cooking lasagna like this all the time from now on.

We all know this feeling when a crave for something extremely delicious comes along, but there’s no desire to spend hours on cooking something that complicated. However, quite many dishes have gotten a simplified version of themselves with time, including the famous Italian lasagna that usually requires baking.

With this recipe, you’ll get the same delicious lasagna, but cooked in just one pan and in much lesser time than the original version.

Here’s what you need: 200 g of lasagna sheets, 350 g of minced meat, 1 onion (large), 1 carrot (medium), 2 tbsp of tomato paste, 50 g of hard cheese, salt and spices to taste, vegetable oil for frying.

Pour the vegetable oil into the pan, heat it up, then add the finely chopped onion. Fry the onion over medium heat until golden brown (about 5 minutes), stirring occasionally. Add the carrots grated on a large grater to the fried onions.

Stir the vegetables and then fry them for 6-7 minutes (until the carrots are soft), stirring occasionally. Add the minced meat to the fried vegetables. Fry the meat with vegetables for 10-12 minutes, breaking up the lumps of meat often enough.

Then pour about 500 ml of water into a frying pan with minced meat and vegetables, add tomato paste, salt and spices to taste. Mix the minced meat with tomato paste and spices, bring the meat sauce to a boil.

Place the lasagna sheets in the minced meat, as if melting the sheets into the boiling sauce. With time, the lasagna sheets will become softer; for that they also need to be completely immersed in the meat sauce.

Let the lasagna boil, cover the pan with a lid, turn down the heat to a minimum, cook for 7 minutes (until the lasagna sheets are soft).

Grate the cheese on a large grater and put it in a frying pan on top of the lasagna. Cover the pan with a lid and cook over low heat for 3 minutes (until the cheese is completely dissolved). After the cheese has melted, remove the pan from the heat. Serve hot.
