No One Trusts Disney on Tangled Anymore: Snow White Scandal Won’t Stop Remake Machine

To many, the disastrous outcome Snow White would create for Disney was just a matter of time, which proved itself just a couple of weeks ago.

Having already caused several major controversies and one big crisis for the mouse house, the musical fantasy movie starring Rachel Zegler has so far grossed $200 million against its budget of $240 million and already been labeled as Disney’s worst-rated film in history.

Additionally, with only two weeks spent in theatres across the world, Snow White caused some serious trouble to one of the company’s future releases; however, not many believe this won’t last long.

Tangled Live-Action Movie’s Development Pause Is All Snow White Fault

Amidst Snow White’s catastrophe-near theatrical run accompanied by tons of backlash, Disney is facing another major problem for its future release schedule as, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio had to temporarily shut down its production of another live-action remake, this time for 2010’s animated hit Tangled.

While many have been protesting Disney’s attempts to give its timeless classic another chance in order to make more profit off it for way longer than it seems, the company reportedly says it’s Snow White’s box office results that are to blame.

Apart from financial trouble it’s bringing to its home company, the movie has been making pretty scandalous headlines ever since it was in the production, mostly involving the controversy between Snow White’s leads Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot.

Though it remains unclear whether a Tangled live-action film will ever be brought to life again, many fans are having doubts about the project being forever gone from Disney’s schedule.

Fans Are Reassured Disney’s Plans Might Change After This Year’s Future Releases

Even with Snow White making the studio living its worst nightmare, many remain confident that even a disaster this grand won’t make Disney reject its idea of making more money off live-action remakes.

Despite not having the best times right now, the mouse house will certainly do better just in a couple of months when Lilo & Stitch’s live-action reboot will premiere in theatres.

“They say the reason behind the pause is because of Snow White, but once Lilo & Stitch and Moana breaks the bank, that’ll be enough to go back and work on it”, Redditor nicolasb51942003 stated, with many supporting the idea.

Others saw a different point though, expressing their hope that the Tangled movie will now either be shelved forever (since the 2010 animated feature doesn’t really need it) or will at least make its creators take some time to do better.

“I think Snow White in general should make Disney just have a good year or two reflection on their live action remake department and what they can fix or change to make it better. There honestly just a good overhaul”, Dangerous-Hawk16 summed it up in the same thread.
