No Oven, No Effort! This Luxurious No-Bake "Banano" Chocolate Mousse Cake Is a Total Game-Changer
Despite seeming a bit complicated, this dessert is actually very easy to make.
There’s a great variety of desserts which prove that chocolate and banana go perfectly well together, and this recipe is definitely one of those. As those who have already tried it claim, the cake is the most delicious combination of savory chocolate and ripe bananas, and the dessert itself won’t take much time of your day to be ready for serving.
Here’s what you need: 2 bananas, 200 g of shortbread cookies, 90 g of butter, 400 g of sour cream, 100 ml of milk, 1 tbsp (10 g) of gelatin, 60 g of sugar, 3 tbsp of cocoa powder, 10 g of chocolate for decoration.
Pour 100 ml of water into a glass, add the gelatin, and let it soak. Next, prepare the crust: crush the cookies into crumbs, melt the butter, and mix it with the crumbs. Press the mixture into a 19-cm springform pan and flatten it with a spoon. Place the pan in the freezer for 10 minutes.
For the chocolate mousse, pour the milk into a small saucepan, add the sugar, and heat until dissolved. Then add the cocoa powder and the puffed gelatin, and whisk until smooth, without bringing it to a boil. Turn off the heat and stir in the sour cream to create a smooth cream.
Peel and slice the bananas: cut each banana into 4 pieces — halve lengthwise, then crosswise. Remove the pan with the shortcrust base from the freezer and arrange the bananas on top. Pour the chocolate mousse over the bananas. Place the cake in the fridge for 2-3 hours, preferably overnight, so that the gelatin solidifies.
Remove the pan, take the cake out of the pan and sprinkle with grated chocolate if you like.
