You might stock more pineapple cans in your kitchen after trying this recipe for the first time.

Even though desserts like tart tatin are considered quite complicated for someone who isn’t really good at baking, it’s actually not true — you only need to find a good recipe. In fact, preparing the tart can only take up to 15 minutes, so make sure you keep this recipe until your next party with friends — they’ll likely be asking for it afterwards.

Ingredients: canned pineapple rings (cut to fit the pan), 120 g of sugar (adjust to your taste; less is fine), 60 g of butter, 150 g of flour, 2 eggs, 80 g of sugar for the dough, 1 tsp of baking powder, vanilla extract to taste, a pinch of salt.

Melt the butter and sugar in a skillet without a handle or directly in a baking dish until it turns into a golden caramel. Remove from the heat and arrange the pineapple rings in a single layer.

Separately, beat the eggs with sugar, then add the flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract; this creates a soft dough. Spread it over the pineapple and smooth it out gently.

Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 25–30 minutes until golden brown.

Let the finished pie rest for 5–10 minutes, then flip it onto a plate — the pineapple ends up on top in the caramel.

Serve warm or cooled; the flavor remains rich, while the texture is soft and fragrant.
