While the actor behind the character, Alex Landi, who announced his return on Instagram with an all scrubbed-in selfie, didn’t share too many details, fans are sure he’s coming back to deal with all the unsettled business he has left with Dr. Levi Schmitt.

Back in season 18, the couple parted their ways after a devastating elevator scene, but this ending did not satisfy the audience nearly enough to stop nagging the writers to bring Nico back.

Schmico’s happy ending may be just the thing they need to add to Grey’s Anatomy season 20 to bring more eyes in.
