Perhaps some actors could get a little more creative freedom.

Although there are a plethora of great characters now being brought to the big screen by the MCU, Nick Fury was one of the first to provide a solid foundation upon which the universe could be built.

Along with Robert Downey Jr. 's Iron Man, and a few other Avengers who have been added over the years, Samuel L. Jackson 's portrayal of Fury on film has become one of the most loved and respected characters out there.

One would think that such success would somehow influence the way the actor works on set, giving him a little more say in Nick Fury's story. Just as it was with Downey Jr. and he took a big part in creating a consistent development for Tony Stark. As it turns out, Samuel L. Jackson doesn't feel he got the same treatment.

When asked about the level of influence he now has on the story after portraying the character for the past 15 years, Jackson cleared up some confusion during the interview with Vulture. He also shared one thing Nick Fury could not do without in his life, if only the actor himself had a say:

“Well, no. Or you would’ve seen my a#s in Wakanda.” So why hasn’t Fury been the home country of Black Panther yet? “I don’t know!” I asked many times, ‘When do I get to go to Wakanda?’ And they’re like, ‘No.’ ‘Why? I know Wakanda is there. And I know about T’Challa. Who do I never encounter them?” the actor said.

Unfortunately for all Black Panther fans, no matter how many times Samuel L. Jackson asked, he never really got an answer that explained why Nick Fury couldn't pay Wakanda a visit. But with his character still central to the universe, there's still a chance that could change.

If you want to see what the future holds for Nick Fury and where exactly his path would lead, stay tuned for the latest MCU releases. In the meantime, you can stream Secret Invasion on Hulu or Disney Plus.
