Fans might not be in favor of a reboot, but another spinoff would do.

With the sudden rise of all kinds of reboots and relaunches of established shows, it's no surprise that Supernatural fans have begun to look at options as well.

Despite the fact that most viewers are not ready to give the role of the Winchester brothers to anyone other than the original cast, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, an option has been found to continue the series.

If done right, it can be both interesting for the audience and profitable for the production team by reviving the Supernatural universe.

Supernatural fans have already gotten a prequel to their favorite show that tells the story of John and Mary Winchesters, the parents of two brothers.

With season 1 ending back in March, the future fate of the show remains unknown as the CW has yet to confirm either cancellation or renewal of the show.

As good as the prequel may be, fans are interested in exploring the universe of Sam and Dean further. And would be willing to do so with a few cameos from the original cast here and there.

One fan on Reddit suggested the concept of a Supernatural spin-off in the style of The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

Since Diabolical focuses more on one-shot stories, the format would work well for the Supernatural universe.

"There are so many stories in Supernatural that we only got a tiny glimpse of that I'd love to see a little more fleshed out. I think the most successful continuation would loop in fan-favorite characters but not require full-season commitments from them. And if you had a series of one-shots, you wouldn't be stuck in any particular timeframe, either," Redditor ChimericalTrainer concluded.

Another thing that would make such a spinoff so good is that it wouldn't have to be limited to a certain number of episodes or seasons.

There's nothing that could scare a fan more than the possibility of their favorite show being abruptly ended without the story having a proper ending. This couldn't happen if each episode told its own story from beginning to end.

If you're feeling nostalgic and want to dive back into the Supernatural universe, you can stream the original show on Netflix or HBO Max.
