The creators didn’t place this particular image in the frame by accident.

Andor, the prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, has become one of the most significant projects in the Star Wars universe. With a $650 million budget for 24 episodes across two seasons, the creators spared no expense — even on the smallest details.

And just recently, production designer Luke Hull revealed on social media an intriguing Easter egg that many viewers missed. And this one is only for true Star Wars fans.

A Nod to Darth Maul

In one scene of Andor, a cleverly hidden reference can be spotted. In a mosaic depicting a spider, one can make out the face of the saga’s iconic villain — Darth Maul.

Fittingly, in The Clone Wars, he even transformed into a cyber-spider himself.

A New Darth Maul Series

Earlier, Lucasfilm announced the animated project Maul: Shadow of the Sith, with Sam Witwer reprising the role of Maul’s voice. The premiere is set for 2026 on Disney+.

This won’t be Witwer’s first time — he also voiced the character in The Clone Wars. Maul’s debut in the franchise, however, featured Ray Park as the physical actor and Peter Serafinowicz as the original voice.
