The billionaire athlete club is the most exclusive room in sports. Forbes counts exactly three members ever — Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Tiger Woods — and with Jordan long retired, only two of them are still technically punching in.

One of those two is now engaged. Tiger Woods, the only billionaire golf has ever produced, is marrying Vanessa Trump — ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., mother of five, former daughter-in-law of the sitting president, and, crucially for our purposes today, a woman with a nine-figure-adjacent fortune of her very own.

The ledger, because you were going to google it anyway

Woods sits at an estimated $1.5 billion, and here's the part people forget: his actual PGA Tour prize money — 15 majors, 82 wins, a quarter century of dominance — totals about $121 million. Pocket lint, comparatively. The empire was built on the other billion-plus from endorsements (that Nike marriage outlasted his actual marriage) plus TGL, PopStroke, course design, the whole TGR-branded universe.

Vanessa's estimated $75 million took a much cozier route: her family's stake in Rao's Homemade — yes, the pasta sauce, the one you guard in your pantry — sold in 2017, layered with real estate, investments, and a modeling career. She is, delightfully, marinara money marrying golf money.

He's worth roughly twenty of her. She's worth roughly a million of the rest of us. The math is fine. Everyone's fine.

The soft launch that broke sports Twitter

Remember March 2025, when the most famously private man in sports — the man who named his yacht Privacy — suddenly posted couple photos with the caption:

"Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side!"

...and then, in the same breath, requested privacy? Iconic behavior. Ivanka Trump popped into the comments with "So happy for you both!", Snoop Dogg told Tiger to check his DMs, and the internet aged five years processing the family tree.

Eighteen months later: engaged. Their kids already orbit the same junior golf circuit — her daughter Kai is headed to play at Miami, his son Charlie is collecting AJGA hardware — so this is less two families merging than one very tall leaderboard forming. Mazel to the happy couple and their combined $1.575 billion. May the prenup be as clean as his 2000 season.
