Oscar 2025 Winner With Kieran Culkin Is Coming to Disney+ in April

The Jesse Eisenberg-directed drama earned 2 nods from the Academy and eventually won one statuette.
This year’s Oscars might have seemed like a wild ride to many of those who watched, but some of the ceremony’s most anticipated moments turned out to be exactly what was predicted months before.
Despite not entering the Best Picture category after all, a bitter drama starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin was one of the frontrunners in two other nominations, eventually winning the Best Supporting Actor statuette for Culkin.
Regarded as one of the best releases of 2024, the film has spent quite a while on digital platforms for now and, luckily for Disney+ ’s subscription holders, will be soon joining the streamer’s collection of movies.
A Real Pain Will Arrive on Disney+ In One Week
Despite Hollywood’s awards season being gone for almost a month now, its contenders keep thriving on streaming, and those who still haven’t witnessed Eisenberg and Culkin’s heartbreaking performances in A Real Pain will be able to do so on Disney+ starting from April 2.
The comedy drama follows two completely different cousins who reunite for a Jewish heritage tour across Poland to honor their recently deceased grandmother.
Starting out on a pretty positive note, the journey soon becomes a challenging mission to handle for both when the cousins’ long-standing tensions resurface, revealing how complex their relationship is and what kind of pain they have been hiding from each other all along.
A Real Pain Earned Kieran Culkin a Long-Overdue Oscar
With impressive scores of 96% and 81% from critics and viewers on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie was a solid contender at the major awards ceremonies, despite not being able to boast of a big amount of nominations like The Brutalist or Emilia Pérez.
However, A Real Pain was one of the big winners of the Oscars ceremony, securing a statuette in one of the main categories and once again proving Kieran Culkin’s Oscar-worthiness demonstrated in a handful of the actor’s works from previous years.
Culkin also received some more nods at other major ceremonies, taking home a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice award among others.
