Guess what: people hate that!

What can cause a fan to drop a show? Well, there are many reasons. Cast changes, plot twists that go nowhere, boring storylines… oh, and the need to wait years for a new season. And the last reason on the list is definitely not the least.

Many showrunners nowadays are making the mistake of leaving the fans in the unknown for too long. They drop a short season of a series, and take a long dramatic pause for a year or two (best case scenario) and then come back again, when fans already forgot whatever was going on before.

Even though the TV production is a lot more impressive nowadays, with shows reaching the scale of big screen blockbusters, it also takes a lot of time to produce a new season. Squid Game, Severance, House of the Dragon, Stranger Things — the list of truly great shows that are suffering from the same problem could go on forever.

Now, the same goes for Outlander. Fans are just exhausted because they have to wait so long for new episodes.

“Having such long periods between seasons half, my wife and I have to spend so much time relearning who people are, the time periods… it’s exhausting. I’m in too deep but this series has gotten tedious,” Redditor ReiverSC said.

People say they are actually ready for the show to end because the wait is excruciating. The first three seasons premiered on Starz with a 1 year gap — painful, but bearable. But then it became two years, and now fans are starting to lose it.

However, some Redditors say they have a lifehack: when they know the release date, they just start binging the previous season a month before. And voila — now you remember everything! The advice is good, but only works for those with enough time on their hands — and enough unconditional love for the show.

All 7 seasons of Outlander are available to stream on Netflix.
