You might have to spend quite some time preparing this hearty treat, but the result will surely be worth it.

Even though it’s likely you already have your own collection of meat recipes to use for home food routine, you still might want to try an upgraded version that is famously tender and comforting. While many people think that getting that perfect juicy middle and golden crust requires hours of complicated prep or deep frying, this French-style baking method is here to impress you within minutes — and stay in your cookbook forever.

Here’s what you need: 500 g of chicken fillet, 150 g of potatoes, 100 g of onion, 1 egg, 30 g of flour, 250 g of tomatoes, 150 g of hard cheese, 100 g of sour cream, 100 g of mayonnaise, 5 g of salt, black pepper, 2 g of smoked paprika, 20 ml of vegetable oil.

Cut the chicken breast into small cubes. Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater, and finely chop the onion. Mix the prepared ingredients with the egg, flour, salt, smoked paprika, and pepper. Let the mixture rest for 10–15 minutes.

Form small patties and fry them in a skillet until lightly golden brown. Place them on a baking sheet. Place a tomato slice on top of each patty. For the cheese topping, mix the grated cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise, then spread the mixture over the tomatoes. Bake at 200°C for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
