This show will make you even more in love with your friends.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Carrie Bradshaw or Bridget Jones, were role models for millions of girls. It was unclear who to emulate for those who did not fit into these generally accepted frameworks, as there was virtually no representation of characters of a different orientation, color, or religion.

Fortunately, we live in the 20s of the 21st century, when all we hear about is inclusivity and the clash of cultures, and Muslim women can take the stage (literally and figuratively).

We Are Lady Parts Season 1 Didn't Get The Attention It Deserved

Three years ago, Nida Manzoor's We Are the Lady Parts, a show about five Londoners, premiered. Despite critical acclaim and prestigious award nominations, the series remained a project that went largely unnoticed by the public.

The rocker chicks were little talked about, and the story became a hidden gem to stumble upon when looking for a charming dramedy. And there's a hope that the second season, which is in no way inferior to the first, will change the situation and attract more viewers.

What is We Are Lady Parts About?

Amina, a 26-year-old microbiology PhD student, lives in London and dreams of finding a husband. Sitting on the couch between her father and mother, she meets another potential groom. However, her parents are quite European, do not put pressure on their daughter and encourage her self-development. For example, the girl learns to play the guitar, which she does quite well.

In another part of the city, the all-female Muslim group Lady Parts plays punk rock. Saira, the group's leader, feels they need a lead guitarist. Circumstances bring these women together with Amina, who has severe stage fright.

We Are Lady Parts is a Brilliant Show About Female Friendship

After a brilliant first season, the creators face a difficult task: not to lower the bar and keep the audience's attention. History is littered with examples of series that have disappointed fans: the storylines have become noticeably weaker, and the characters have not received the development they deserve. But Nida Manzoor's creation is not in danger of failing.

We Are Lady Parts does not lose its wit, knows when to add emotion, but does not fall into melodrama. And the five friends are still full of energy and make you sing along during the rehearsals.

We Are Lady Parts conquers first and foremost with the power of sisterhood. The magic of female friendship will make you laugh, cry, and type touching messages to your friends.
