You never know what’s behind the actor’s success story.

Summary:

  • Pedro Pascal ’s short appearance in Buffy the Vampire Slayer saved him financially and morally, allowing him to continue working in Hollywood
  • The actor recently confessed he was at the lowest point in life before it.
  • Since then, Pascal has become one of the most recognized and hyped actors.

Pedro Pascal, one of the Internet’s biggest crushes right now, had a rough time of his life before he became an acclaimed celebrity with a bunch of banger projects released recently. However, his path towards fame was not so fairy tale-like as it could seem.

Before greater public recognition, the actor took small unremarkable parts in many TV shows and movies, including his guest-starring short role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a supernatural teen drama show, airing from 1997 to 2003.

Pascal participated in the first episode of Season 4, The Freshman, in the role of Edward, an acquaintance to Buffy Summers, who then becomes a victim of the battle between slayers and the darkness.

The actor’s unforgettable charisma was obviously present even in this brief TV appearance, which totaled only 3 minutes, including a shot of him killed by vampires.

In a recent interview with ET the actor revealed this small role gave him not only money, but also strength and hope for a better future when he was completely broke.

“I had less than $7 in my bank account and a residual from Buffy the Vampire Slayer showed up and saved the day and literally is the reason I was able to stay in [Hollywood] and not give up,” genuinely confessed the actor, recalling that uplifting experience.

He also didn’t forget to express his admiration to his back-then Buffy colleague, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the titular character in the series and recently responded to his warm memories of her with an Instagram post, featuring them on the set in 1999.

We all know that since then Pascal gained much recognition not only from critics, but from millions of fans around the world. The roles in such massively popular TV shows as Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, as well as in Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Wonder Woman 1984, brought him the status of an acting icon.

Fans were shocked at realizing their idol was at such a point of his life, emphasizing that he didn’t forget where he came from, which deserves a lot of respect. In this connection an issue of the Hollywood strikes has arised, as among other protest statements they remind that the young actors’ work should be fairly paid too.

“...Residuals helped a lot of non-famous at the time actors, and behind the scenes workers pay their bills and keep working,” admits user @blueavole in a recent Reddit discussion.

There is a hope that more and more young actors are found and supported by studios’ casting executives, which will result in their deserved success and further projects.
