People are way too dedicated to Captain Jack Sparrow, savvy?

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean ' franchise is officially on track to get another sequel with a female lead, producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed to Sunday Times – and yes, he looks forward to signing up Margot Robbie.

"We're talking to Margot Robbie. We are developing two Pirates scripts — one with her, one without," he said.

Regarding Depp's participation, "the future is yet to be decided", but at this point, Bruckheimer clarified, he's not coming back.

Judging by the fans' reaction, he might as well have ultimately cancelled the entire franchise.

It's not like the POTC fans hate Margot Robbie, but rather they want – you guessed it – #JusticeForJohnnyDepp.

Moreover, there is a new hashtag on the rise – #NoJohnnyNoPirates.

Even though Bruckheimer did try leaving a backdoor for the studio by saying that the future is yet to be decided, Depp himself made it clear that he has no intention to return to Disney 's franchise after the studio left him feeling "betrayed".

The actor is currently in the middle of a legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard, with both of them accusing each other of domestic abuse. Unlike Heard, Depp enjoys massive social media support over the course of the trial.
