Teen Wolf: The Movie has already been subjected to a lot of fan criticism, but it's not like the fandom is ready to just let it go and move on. While some people are upset about — spoiler alert — the breakup of Stydia or the absence of Dylan O'Brien, others are noticing major inconsistencies with the show.

Many fans have noted that the movie seemed to deliberately weaken the werewolves so that the hunters would have a chance against them. According to Redditors, Allison simply "cannot be that terrifying," even though hunters are trained to be killers.

"She [Allison] has plot armor. Sadly, it's the result of it being a "Teen" show. They spent more on relationship [...] than anything of substance," Redditor AgnosticJesus3 noted.

According to fans, the movie chose to ignore the fact that werewolves actually possess many extraordinary powers. In the movie, however, the wolves are only distinguished by their ability to grow claws and fangs.

"Even before Allison is influenced by the Nogitsune, she was apparently strong enough to put up a fight against Derek, a born werewolf, along with Scott and the others at hospital," Redditor Sakurarcadia recalled.

The werewolves do not use their other senses on Allison for some reason. According to fans, it made the movie "ridiculous." Others, however, note that this is not just the movie's problem, as the power levels on Teen Wolf have always been a "chaotic mess."

Teen Wolf Movie Almost Had Dylan O'Brien' s Cameo, But Davis Ruined It

Aside from the weak werewolves, the film has been criticized by fans for the way Jeff Davis decided to break up the couple Stiles and Lydia, as well as the absence of Dylan O'Brien, who fans consider a crucial character for the Teen Wolf universe. Davis, however, has already defended his creative decisions, saying they were good for the story.

Teen Wolf: The Movie is available for streaming on Paramount Plus.
