In November, Apple TV+ will premiere a new sci-fi series from Vince Gilligan, the creator of the cult classics Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Titled Pluribus, the series tells the story of a happiness epidemic that suddenly engulfs the Earth.
While almost no information is available about the series itself, it has an intriguing promotional campaign. Here is everything you should know about Pluribus.
'Pluribus' Release Date, Number of Episodes & Streaming Platform
The first news about the project appeared in 2022 when the series was in the early stages of development. In early 2025, it was reported that the show could premiere in as little as six months, according to Gilligan himself.
In July, the exact release date was revealed, as well as the title – Pluribus. Pluribus premieres on Apple TV+ on November 7, 2025.
The first season is expected to consist of ten episodes, with the running time still unknown. On November 7, two premiere episodes will be released on Apple TV+, with the remaining episodes being released weekly.
'Pluribus' Teasers
Pluribus has some very unusual teasers. The strange, short videos, no longer than 30 seconds, don't reveal any plot details, which only adds to the mystery.
On July 25, 2025, the first teaser for Pluribus appeared on the Apple TV+ YouTube channel. It showed a woman licking doughnuts in a package and then returning them.
A second, equally strange teaser was released on July 28. In the short clip, a mysterious woman with a cane approaches a landline phone but hesitates to make a call.
The third teaser, released on August 19, shows the main character, Carol, walking slowly down the street in a white T-shirt stained with red. The caption on the screen reads, "Hello, Carol. We'll put things right. Sorry about the blood."
What Will 'Pluribus' Be About?
Plot details are being kept under wraps. What is known is that Pluribus is a sci-fi project in which humanity faces an unprecedented threat.
The story centers on Carol, a sullen writer of historical romance novels played by Rhea Seehorn.
While touring to promote her new book, a mysterious epidemic sweeps through New Mexico. A "happy virus" spreads, transforming those infected into easygoing, contented optimists. Untouched by the virus, Carol tries to uncover who is behind it.
Showrunner Vince Gilligan promised that his new project will feature dark humor and unexpected twists.
