Prime Video's #2 Show Is a Nail-Biter of a Crime Thriller With 'Game of Thrones' Star
If you're looking for an engaging thriller series with a strong female lead, this is a perfect choice.
Sophie Turner, known to millions of viewers for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, is back on screen. Her new project, the crime thriller Steal, is available on Amazon Prime Video.
The series promises a tense story of financial fraud with unexpected twists and a look at the complex corporate culture of London.
What Is 'Steal' About?

The plot revolves around Zara, an ordinary employee at the investment firm. One day, her routine is interrupted by an attack. A group of armed robbers break into the office, not to steal money, but to force the employees to process transactions worth four billion pounds.
Pointing guns at them, the robbers demand that the employees comply. Zara, showing composure, complies. However, an unexpected twist occurs at the end of the first episode, radically changing the balance of power.
From that point on, a real investigation begins involving the police, the press, and even MI5. Inspector Rhys Covaci, who has a personal grudge against the financial criminals, is particularly zealous.
'Steal' Is an Uneven Show, but It Will Keep You Glued to the Screen Until the Finale
Don't expect deep revelations about the world of finance or subtle social analysis from Steal – its strength lies in its skillful use of proven genre tropes.
The first few episodes captivate with their fast-paced action and intriguing twists. However, by midseason, the pace slows, and the plot becomes plagued by logical inconsistencies – a common affliction of many streaming projects that save their best ideas for the first few episodes.
Nevertheless, the British detective genre does its job – the plot remains engaging, keeping viewers waiting for the ending.
Sophie Turner Is the Main Driving Force in 'Steal'

In Steal, Sophie Turner proves that she can carry a project on her own. Zara is the perfect character for Turner, continuing the line of heroines who journey from vulnerability to strength.
Turner masterfully conveys Zara's nervousness, fear, and inner turmoil when she's cornered. Then, she demonstrates a remarkable transformation into the determined and cunning protagonist.
The supporting cast is excellent as well: Jacob Fortune-Lloyd plays an inspector who is both touching and obsessive, and whose personal drama adds depth to the story.
