The first Avengers comics appeared all the way back in 1963, but the first movie only came out in 2012 — don't you find it a bit weird, considering the comic's popularity?

Apparently, Marvel fans on Reddit are a bit unsettled about it, too.

To make the day of this somber realization better, they decided to imagine what would've happened if The Avengers was filmed back in the 90s — and pick an appropriate cast out of the actors who were popular back then.

Let's just say, it would've been an amazing movie!

Imagine Brad Pitt in his prime as Captain America and John Stamos as Winter Soldier. Just like in real life, Pitt's competition is Tom Cruise cast as the 90s' Ironman by the fans.

However, Cruise is not left alone in this confrontation: his young protege Leo Dicaprio is by his side as Spiderman.

Imagine the poor magic effects of the 90s' CGI suddenly not bothering you at all as the spells are cast by the amazing Keanu Reeves ( Doctor Strange ), Gary Oldman ( Loki, obviously!), and Dolph Lundgren.

Everyone's most beloved actor who recently came back — Brendan Fraser — is young again, traversing the galaxy as Star-Lord, but he better watch out as somewhere out there, the all-powerful Ron Perlman is gathering forces to make his move.

Let's back down a bit from all this magic and space, though as we have the rest of the Avengers back on Earth waiting for action.

In addition to Joe Pesci's guns (Rocket Racoon), they have Christian Slater's bow (Hawkeye ) as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger's and David Duchovny's fists (Drax and Hulk, respectively).

But don't think that the girls are staying away from all the fun!

With Milla Jovovich as Black Widow, Alicia Silverstone as Scarlet Witch, Halle Berry as Gamora, and Winona Ryder as Mantis, they are unstoppable…

Or so they thought until they learned that they're up against none other than Demi Moore — you don't mess with that Nebula, we can tell you that much!

Have you imagined all of this? Have you felt it the way we have?

We would totally pay to see this version of The Avengers — or for a time machine to take us back 30 years so that we could film it ourselves.

If you feel this way too, you can check out this cool poster of the 90's Avengers and read through the original discussion while we're looking for that glove to travel back in time.
