Just who was that mysterious stalker?

The first season of Netflix 's new hit show Wednesday has ended with a cliffhanger, hinting that Miss Addams is nowhere near resolving every Nevermore mystery. However, one of the biggest issues is also Wednesday's personal one: who is the creepy stalker who has her phone number and sends her death threats?

To deal with the suspense that's killing them, fans rushed to social media, and Reddit already has a wild theory on the identity of the stalker.

Instead of immediately pinning the blame on Xavier (who, let's be honest, is the most obvious choice right now as he was the one who gave Wednesday the phone), the new theory points at someone who nobody — even Wednesday herself — would suspect.

"Thing is the stalker. At the finale it was shown that the real enemy is out there. Who could just sit there a take photos of Wednesday without being seen. Thing also knew where the diary was," Redditor Both-Assignment8552 claimed.

According to the user, Wednesday's treatment of Thing calls for him to have a "revenge plot" in season 2. When it comes to technology, Thing is surprisingly dexterous: we have already seen him using a camera, so a phone would not be a big problem for him. After all, Thing did spend a lot of quality time with Enid who might have shown him a couple tricks.

As wild as the theory sounds, it would definitely be an unexpected turn of events which might also be a big shock for Wednesday. We all remember very well that Thing was one of the very few characters capable of making her emotional. If he turns out to be a stalker, this would be one of the greatest betrayals Wednesday has ever faced in her life.

However, as of now, it remains to be nothing short of a bold guess. Netflix is yet to announce whether Wednesday gets a second season, even though the renewal seems like a question of time after the show dethroned Stranger Things as the platform's biggest debut.

On Wednesday (of course), it was announced that Tim Burton's series has secured over 341 million hours viewed on Netflix in its first week. Stranger Things only had 286.8 million hours viewed in the seven days after the release of season 4 volume 1.
