And yep, it's about the artificial intelligence.

The show tells a story about the confrontation between human creators and robots who have gained consciousness.

Suddenly, the fourth season was the last for the series, cutting off the plot at its most interesting moment. But now Westworld fans think there's a lot of modern AI-driven technology involved.

Redditor Jake-of-the-Sands made an interesting suggestion.

They don't think the show was canceled because studio executives didn't want to maintain an expensive project, since other series like True Blood are still going. Even if they don't make much money.

The fan believes that a very negative perception of AI is currently being created in various areas of culture.

Given that Westworld creates a very negative feeling and aversion to the technology, the speculation is that HBO, as well as some other companies, might not love the idea of ultimately shading the new technology.

The plot of Westworld, with machines suddenly finding themselves with more conscience than we thought they had, is certainly not new.

James Cameron filmed Terminator based on a similar story, and his colleague Steven Spielberg is even more concerned about the technology replacing screenwriters.

And Elon Musk claims that if we do not limit AI, this development will consume the world in the future.

All in all, not everyone is an immediate fan of AI; which is why, some believe, projects that slam the AI could have been canceled so as not to create even more AI haters.

However, ordinary people are also concerned about the technology. Many Americans have already lost their jobs due to the development of AI, so this kind of conspiracy theory will only continue to grow.

Westworld directly explores the dangers of AI presented by the Rehoboam system. But if the series' producers were worried about their stock, they would never have made Westworld, right?

The Redditor also points out that this is just speculation, more like a conspiracy theory. The AI is hardly the main reason for the show's cancellation; but hey, some us love putting on a tinfoil hat sometimes.

Westworld was one of HBO's most expensive projects, but with each passing season, the quality of the series and the interest in it declined.

And while Game of Thrones had a loyal fan base that was willing to stick around for the final installment of the epochal franchise, there were far fewer followers of the Terminator-style storyline.
