What Is ‘Rivals’ About?
The streaming hit, based on Jilly Cooper’s iconic novel, took viewers by storm and became a fan favorite for many things. Yes it may seem like yet another drama between the wealthy, but in reality it brings so much more to the table.
Rivals tells the story of high-stakes confrontation between several stubborn men caught in the world of new and old money. Including Declan O’Hara, the principled Irishman who is a self-proclaimed king of journalism, and Rupert Campbell-Black, a flamboyish middle-aged man to be saved by a younger woman and always ready to become a part of any feud.
Their cat-and-mouse games were the essential part of season 1, but they may continue in season 2 as well.
Season 2 will pick up the second half of the Cooper novel. Careers, marriages, and reputations will hang in the balance as personal and professional lives collide in a world where secrets can’t stay hidden for long.
