Robin’s return sparks chaos, history, and cinematic magic deep in Serbia.

Production for the upcoming British series Robin Hood has kicked off in the scenic Fruška Gora region, causing temporary road closures. Lionsgate Television is leading the project for MGM+, with filming running from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. According to Telegram Page Novi Sad Daily, the affected zone is the Grebenski Put road, stretching from the Norcev Hotel to the "Gusle" location, which is currently closed to traffic. Luckily, the nearby route from Venca to Gusle remains open.

Starring Australian Jack Patten as Robin Hood and Sean Bean — famously known as Boromir from The Lord of the Rings — as the Sheriff of Nottingham, the series promises a fresh, modern retelling. Bean’s Sheriff is no mere villain; he’s portrayed as a statesman, strategist, and builder of Nottingham. This complex version is a loving father, politician, and cousin to King Henry II.

The story dives deep into the romance between Robin and Marian, played by Lauren McQueen. Marian will secretly infiltrate the royal court while Robin leads a band of outlaws to fight corruption. With historical authenticity and psychological depth, this Robin Hood aims to be a sweeping, romantic adventure unlike any other.
