Rotten Tomatoes-Approved: 5 Apple TV+ Movies You Probably Missed — But Shouldn’t

They didn’t make headlines, but they deserve your weekend.
Apple TV+ may be better known for its series, but its film catalog is packed with originals — no old library titles, just exclusives. Some, like Killers of the Flower Moon or the Oscar-winning CODA, grabbed the spotlight. Others quietly earned strong reviews and, I think, deserve far more attention.
Here are five you might have missed.
Greyhound – 78%
Released in 2020, this WWII naval thriller stars Tom Hanks as Commander Ernest Krause on his first combat mission. Based on C.S. Forester’s 1955 novel, it’s a tight 91 minutes of near-constant action. Given Hanks’ performance, I’m surprised it wasn’t a bigger hit.
On the Rocks – 87%
Written and directed by Sofia Coppola, this lighthearted father–daughter caper pairs Rashida Jones with Bill Murray. Jones plays Laura, who suspects her husband of cheating and teams up with her charming, meddling father to investigate. Critics praised its breezy tone and the irresistible chemistry between Murray and Jones.
Cha Cha Real Smooth – 85%
Cooper Raiff writes, directs, and stars as Andrew, a drifting college grad who becomes a party host and falls for a single mother (Dakota Johnson) raising a daughter with autism. A Sundance favorite that, to me, deserved far more buzz across streaming.
The Banker – 78%
Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson headline this 1950s drama about two Black entrepreneurs who hire a white frontman to navigate a racist real estate and banking industry. I think it’s one of Apple TV+’s most under-discussed historical films, despite award recognition from the NAACP Image Awards.
Swan Song – 80%
Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, and Naomie Harris star in this emotional sci-fi about a terminally ill man offered the chance to replace himself with a clone to spare his family grief. The heart of the film is his quiet, painful decision over whether to tell them.
