Say Goodbye to Dry Chicken: The Unusual Hungarian Secret Using Grapes for Maximum Tenderness
Just add a little bit of wine, and the problem of tasteless chicken is solved.
Even though chicken dishes might be the most popular when it comes to comfort home food, it’s also not that easy to make the meat juicy and tender. Some recipes, however, offer solutions to those who have seemingly tried everything, including this one describing how to cook the chicken in a Hungarian style.
Just three essential ingredients are required, so make sure you save this for preparing the best chicken you’ve ever had.
Here’s what you need: a large chicken breast, your favorite chicken seasoning, salt, half a cup of Tokaj wine, two tablespoons of butter, a bunch of white or red grapes.
Wash the chicken breast, pat it dry, season with salt and spices, and let it rest in a cool place for half an hour. Fry it in butter on all sides until golden brown.
Place the fillets in an ovenproof dish and lightly drizzle with fat. Add the wine, diluted with half a cup of water, to the pan, cover, and bake in the oven at 180°C for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Remove the pan from the oven, add the grapes, and bake for another 15 minutes.
Place the fillets on a serving platter, drizzle with the accumulated juices, arrange the grapes on top, and garnish with parsley. This dish pairs perfectly with rice.
