Schwarzenegger in His Repertoire: The Actor Has a Least Favourite 'Terminator' — and It’s No Surprise

Can a Terminator movie even exist without the Terminator himself?
Arnold Schwarzenegger has officially revealed his least favourite film in the Terminator franchise, and it’s the one he wasn’t even in. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the actor didn’t mince words when asked to name the worst entry in the series.
"I would say the worst was probably number four [Terminator Salvation]," Schwarzenegger said. "Because that was done during the time I was governor, and I was not in it. How do you make a Terminator movie without me being in the Terminator movie? It doesn't make any sense. It’s impossible."
Terminator Salvation (2009), starring Christian Bale, was meant to reboot the series with a gritty, future-war setting — but instead, it became a cautionary tale. Troubled production, a sky-high budget, and lack of fan enthusiasm led to weak box office returns and a 33% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
It remains the only Terminator film without Schwarzenegger in a leading or cameo role. Despite advanced CGI and an ambitious vision, many fans felt the film lacked the emotional core that defined earlier entries.
