The show’s both seasons now featured actors who you never even realised were there.

Apple TV ’s sci-fi hit Severance just made an epic return to the screens several days ago, and the second season’s first episode seemingly set up the series’ new exciting tradition.

Primarily directed by Ben Stiller, Severance follows a group of employees at the fictional corporation called Lumon Industries whose personal memories are surgically separated from the ones associated with work.

Keeping up with the overall mystery surrounding Lumon and its bosses, the show surrounds its characters with not less mysterious, “bodiless” voices communicating with them via technologically advanced machines. At some point, a couple of those voices do start sounding very familiar.

Severance Has Already Featured 2 Major Cameos

In there, the actor narrates the “Lumon Is Listening” video shown to Mark, Helly, Irving, and Dylan in the Break Room; the initially friendly recording recounting some positive changes in the company gradually turns into an unnerving message masterfully nailed by Reeves with his calm and encouraging voice.

However, the actor isn’t the first one to have a secret role in Severance. Before that, in the first season’s episode 8, the show’s director Ben Stiller did pretty much the same thing, voicing the animated version of Lumon Industries’ big boss Kier Eagan cheering on Helly after she manages to reach her quota.

Keanu Reeves and Ben Stiller Might Return to Their Small Roles in Severance

Though it equally might have been both actors’ only appearance in the show, they can still be brought back once there’s a need for their off-screen characters to resurface again at some point.

The animated version of Kier Eagan won’t feel the same without Ben Stiller’s voice just like a possible upcoming series of “Lumon Is Listening” videos can’t be narrated by anyone else except for Keanu Reeves. Considering all the latest disturbing events at Lumon, the chances are the lead characters will be forced to watch at least a couple more videos like this.
