'Severance' Theory Based on Season 2 Scripts Predicts Helly & Mark's Fate in Season 3

Season 3 is still a long way off, but fans have new material to speculate about what will happen next for Mark and Helly – the scripts for the Season 2 finale. Here's a compelling theory about Season 3.
The final scenes of Season 2 of Severance left fans on the edge of their seats, but the newly released finale scripts on Deadline have sparked new theories.
One of the most intriguing questions is what will happen to Helly and Mark in Season 3 after their rebellion on the severed floor.
'Severance' Season 2 Scripts Hint at Helly's Future Choice
Redditor babybeluga01 points out two phrases from James's conversation with Helly in the MDR office that appear in the scripts but were not included in the show:
“I am – feeble. When I go to the table impalpable – the weight of his earthly purpose shall pass to my progeny.”
“Stay the path, little mouse.”
The Reddit user has proposed a theory that these phrases confirm the difficult choice Helly will have to make in Season 3.
Jame Will Blackmail Helly With the Innies' Safety, Forcing Her to Take Helena's Place
By the end of the second season, it was clear that Jame was disappointed in Helena when he visited the MDR office to see Helly. Perhaps the head of the company wants Helly, not Helena, to be his heir. In episode 10 of Season 2, he said that there is no Kier in Helena, but there is Kier in Helly.
If Jame considers Helly a worthy heir, he could offer her a deal: power in exchange for loyalty. For example, he could guarantee the safety of the other innies, especially Mark, whom Helly is clearly not ready to betray.
The third season could then unfold around a forced compromise: Helly and Mark would formally submit to Lumon, but continue their secret struggle.
This Theory Would Help Maintain Dynamic in 'Severance'
This scenario helps maintain the narrative's dynamics by dividing it into three key parts.
First is the aftermath of the riot on the severed floor, where Dylan and Milchick deal with the chaos. Second is Helly and Mark's attempt to adapt to the outside world under the corporation's strict control.
Finally, there is a storyline with Gemma, Devon, and Irving, who will try to reveal the truth about Lumon to society.
Lumon Could Use Mark to Calm the Unrest Over the Severed Floor Rebellion
Back in the second season, Helena jokingly suggested introducing Mark to her father. If this was not a random remark but a hint, then in the third season, we may see how Jame Eagan tries to integrate Mark into the Lumon system, perhaps by making him the face of Severance propaganda.
This will be a cunning move for the corporation: presenting the uprising as a misunderstanding and its participants as misguided but forgiven employees.
