You'd think that shooting a sex scene with your partner would be easier than with a stranger, right? Well, apparently, it's a hell of an awkward and uncomfy experience!

Let's be honest, when we think about how actors shoot their sex scenes, we can all agree that having to do that with a complete stranger, surrounded by a bunch of other complete strangers, to have it filmed and broadcast all around the world is a rather unsettling thought.

Not the process everyone would agree to, that's for sure.

On the contrary, shooting a sex scene with a person you love, your real-life partner, sounds like a way more comfortable experience, doesn't it? Well, it's not.

Angeline Jolie had to film an intimate scene with Brad Pitt after they were already married, and she admits that it was no easy task.

The actors were starring in By the Sea during their honeymoon, and being a married couple was not the only thing that complicated the process: it was also the fact that Jolie was directing the movie, too.

Being completely naked in a bathtub in front of her subordinate crew, acting and simultaneously checking the footage on an iPad, giving orders, and dealing with her husband at the same time proved to be a massive challenge for Angelina.

"It's the strangest thing in the world to be lying naked in a bathtub with an iPad that's showing you the shot outside, while your husband is at the door and you're directing him to come in and make love to you. In front of a bunch of other men with cameras," shared the actress.

Jolie added that she couldn't get out of the bathtub to get to her director's monitor because, well, the director was naked.

For Brad Pitt, this was a challenge, too: as an actor, he was used to naked shots, but Angelina was his wife — and he was on "towel duty," covering her with a towel each time she had to stand up.

This sounds like a terribly uncomfortable experience for everyone involved: obviously, it was the worst for Jolie and Pitt, but the filming crew clearly was feeling increasingly weird as time went by.

The famous couple tried their best to defuse the situation, and Angelina likes to think that they at least somewhat succeeded.

"The only way to get through it was for us to all talk about the absurdity of it and make sure no one was feeling awkward. We made as many jokes as possible," laughs the actress.

Jolie and Pitt managed to pull it off in the end, but it was far from their first time shooting an intimate scene.

For all of us, newbies, there's a lesson in this story: if one day we get to act in a movie, maybe it's best to have someone unfamiliar as a partner for a sex scene… Or, at the very least, someone but the director of the film.
