‘Silo’ Season 3 Has Already Wrapped Filming — Here’s When It’s Coming to Apple TV
Rebecca Ferguson’s hit sci-fi show is set to come back to Apple TV soon, and there might be a major shift from Hugh Howey’s original novels.
Huge gaps of 2-3 years between shows’ seasons have become a new norm in the TV Industry after Hollywood’s massive strikes back in 2023, but, luckily, a few major series weren’t that much affected.
Surprisingly, this is the case of one of Apple TV’s biggest sci-fi hits Silo starring Dune’s actress Rebecca Ferguson, now planning to return to the screens sooner than anyone could imagine.
Based on Hugh Howey’s Silo trilogy of novels, the show was launched in 2023, with the second season following in 2024 and wrapping mid-January this year.
Just weeks after the second instalment’s finale release, Silo’s cast and crew came back to the set, and it seems like showrunner Graham Yost’s promise to not delay a new season for long might actually be kept.
‘Silo’ Season 3 Will Reportedly Be Released Next Year
Now with less than two months left until 2026 arrives, Silo’s fans can be reassured that the next season is coming to Apple TV in the next several months, most likely premiering sometime in the winter.
This is confirmed by the fact that filming for Silo’s season 3 reportedly wrapped back in June while the team was already working on new episodes at the time of season 2’s finale release in January.
“We had finished writing Season 3 pretty much before the strike was called, and that’s while we were filming Season 2. And we’ve written all of Season 4. So, because we have to plan, there’s no hiatus. We’re shutting down for three months of pre-production for Season 4 and then we’re going to roll right in”, Silo’s showrunner Graham Yost said in an interview with TheWrap back then.
‘Silo’ Season 3 Will Expand Rebecca Ferguson’s Role Even More
The show, now left with only two more seasons to go, has moved on from Howey’s first novel titled “Wool” to adapting “Shift”, the second part of the trilogy.
As Yost repeatedly stated, the series had intentionally put Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette at the forefront, even though she isn’t that big of a deal in the original novels; apart from that, the way things turn out in the upcoming third season will now depend on Juliette’s actions even more.
“In the book Shift, Juliette doesn't appear until like the last page, right? It's about this silo [No. 18], but it's also the origin story of the whole silo project. I would say that we have Rebecca Ferguson playing Juliette, and she is not just going to be in the last scene of the season”, Yost revealed in an interview with TVLIne before Silo’s season 2 premiered.
Silo’s season 3 is expected to air on Apple TV sometime in 2026.
