Over the course of nearly 60 years, Doctor Who has taken the Doctor and their companions to many places and time periods. Why not the year 40K?

Well, maybe not to bump into the Dalek invasion in the midst of Warhammer 40,000's intergalactic war? People are convinced that this is a viable explanation.

Fans long for a crossover between Doctor Who and Warhammer 40,000, and many even believe to have found some references to Warhammer 40k in the 2013's Doctor Who episode Nightmare Is Silver.

For instance, people point out the fact that the human military is called the Imperium, and its leader bears the name "the Emperor" (who happens to be the 41st Emperor).

In addition to that, fans mention the fact that blowing up a planet is totally acceptable in this episode, whereas the Doctor would never normally allow it. Maybe the Doctor just got violent for a second?

Other users try to calm down the more excited fans by saying that the names are generic words with Latin roots and are used in different universes so it is basically a coincidence.

In this case, it is probably more about what you want to believe…

The much-desired Doctor Who/Warhammer 40k crossover has actually spawned a fandom of its own – with numerous theories, debates, and fanfics. Well, whatever works for you, guys!

There are even some online discussions about how great a Doctor Who episode set in 40k would be.

Reddit users poke fun at the fact that the Doctor "would probably end up reviving the Emperor while being chased by the Inquisition for being an ultra heretic" and that they can accomplish just about anything with a regular screwdriver.

Sounds like the Doctor we know, tbh…

Others wonder how Daleks, the Doctor's arch-enemies, would fit into the 40k lore. Whose side would they be on? Would they end up ruling in the Warhammer 40k universe alone or side by side with the villains of the franchise?

Knowing Daleks, they would probably not want to share the power even with Archaon the Everchosen…

Since 2023 is the year when Doctor Who turns 60, and we have been promised at least three (or even four) specials to celebrate the anniversary, all fans can dream of getting their heart's desires fulfilled.

Though a 40k episode is probably not the showrunner's priority…
