'Special Ops' Season 2: Plot, Cast, and Where to Watch

Everything we know so far.
The much-anticipated second season of Special Ops, directed by Shivam Nair, will now premiere on 18 July, having been postponed from its original 11 July release date. Kay Kay Menon reprises his role as Himmat Singh, the seasoned R&AW officer leading his team into a new realm of warfare — cyber terrorism.
Unlike conventional battlefields, Special Ops Season 2 delves into the growing menace of digital warfare. Set against a tense geopolitical backdrop, the series reflects real-world anxieties about national security in an era where cyber-attacks can threaten entire nations. Himmat and his team face a high-stakes mission to dismantle a silent enemy deeply embedded within cyberspace.
Kay Kay Menon shared on Instagram that the delay was due to circumstances beyond his control but reassured fans that all episodes will be released simultaneously. Speaking about his character, Menon said:
“Himmat Singh has never been your typical hero; he doesn’t seek glory but carries heavy burdens. This time, the battles are quieter yet more perilous, and every choice carries greater weight. As an actor, it’s rare to find a role that challenges you so profoundly, both in performance and spirit. I hope viewers sense the depth and heart we’ve invested in this season.”
Created by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Friday Storytellers, Special Ops first premiered in 2020 to critical acclaim. The new season boasts an ensemble cast including Prakash Raj, Vinay Pathak, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Karan Tacker, Saiyami Kher, Muzammil Ibrahim, Gautami Kapoor, Parmeet Sethi, and Kali Prasad Mukherjee.
Special Ops Season 2 will be available to stream exclusively on Jiocinema from 18 July. Fans can expect a gripping espionage thriller that combines intense drama with timely themes of cyber warfare and national security.
