Someone doesn't seem to crave Tom Holland's Spidey coming back for more.

As fans are eager for Spider-Man to return in a fourth movie by Sony and Marvel Studios, it seems that one of the franchise's stars is not really sharing the excitement.

Jacob Batalon, who portrays Peter Parker's best friend Ned Leeds, has addressed the Spider-Man 4 possibility for the first time since the release of immensely successful No Way Home. Speaking with Collider, Batalon said that he does not really have any updates on the fourth movie — or any particular hopes.

"I feel like actors are the last people to know. I think that people assume that actors are always hiding secrets. I promise you, we don't know anything. But again, if it's the right place, at the right time, with the right group of people that we've been with, I would say, why not? But other than that, whatever happens, happens. Really, those decisions are up to the big bosses, the people who sign the checks. We're open to the idea, but we're not hoping for it," Batalon said.

The actor added that he and other co-stars are in fact moving on from the franchise and trying new things, but outlined that "whatever happens, happens".

Despite many Marvel fans craving another Spider-Man movie, there are people who appear to share the actor's sentiment.

"TBH it would be okay with me if they never made another Spider-Man movie [other than the Spider-Verse films and a live action Miles Morales in the MCU.] NWH was quite possibly the greatest superhero movie of all time [next to the Dark Knight] and I think it would be hard to top," Twitter user MVC2fan97 suggested.

Some people think that Batalon, as well as Zendaya — the actress behind Peter's girlfriend MJ — do not actually need to be in the next movie should it be made.

"In that case, make it without him. Tbh, Zendaya doesnt really have to be in it either. The way No Way Home ended, it started the next chapter in Peter's life. Introduce Harry Osbourne, Gwen Stacy and a few others." – @Im_a_Lost_Boy_

However, despite No Way Home's heart-wrenching ending that envisages Peter being erased from everyone's memory, there is still space for the character to develop. For instance, No Way Home has explicitly hinted at Batalon's Ned magic gift which might pave him the way straight to Kamar-Taj. At the same time, it is always possible that Peter somehow finds a way to remind his friends about himself even though it would still endanger them.

No Way Home premiered in theaters in December 2021, becoming one of the most successful Marvel movies and blowing everyone's minds by bringing back Andrew Garfield's and Tobey Maguire 's web-slingers, as well as the villains they battled in their own movies.
